When the calendar flips to November, the vibe at Seaside Coworking shifts. The hum of focused productivity begins to blend with the rustle of tinsel and the scent of pine. While many coworking spaces are just places to plug in a laptop, Seaside is a community—and nothing proves that more than our annual holiday tradition.
Every year, we take a break from the spreadsheets and coding to transform our space into a winter wonderland. Here is a look inside our most recent celebration, which turned out to be our biggest one yet.
Step 1: The Transformation
The festivities always begin with the “Great Decoration.” We believe that a creative workspace should reflect the season, so the entire community gets involved.
- The Tree: We source the tallest, freshest tree that will fit through the door.
- The Decor: From twinkling fairy lights to ornaments that represent our diverse member base, the space evolves into a cozy, festive hub.
- The Spirit: There’s something uniquely bonding about arguing over where the star should go or untangling a three-year-old knot of LED lights.
The Main Event: What is a Raclette Party?
If you aren’t familiar with Raclette, you’re missing out on the ultimate winter comfort food. Originating from the Alps, it’s less of a meal and more of an endurance sport. The ingredients are simple but divine:
- Potatoes: Boiled to perfection.
- Cheese: Thick slices of Raclette cheese, melted until bubbly and golden.
- Ham & Charcuterie: A variety of savory meats to balance the richness.
The ritual is simple: you melt the cheese and scrape it over your potatoes and ham. At Seaside, our goal is equally simple: try to eat as much as you possibly can. It’s a marathon of melted goodness that brings everyone together around the heat of the grills.
A Record-Breaking Year: 25 People, One Table
This year was special. Our community has grown significantly, and we saw 25 members join the feast.
To accommodate everyone, we had to perform a feat of engineering: we built the biggest table ever seen at Seaside. We cleared the main floor and lined up every desk and trestle we had to create one massive, continuous banquet table. Seeing 25 people from different industries, countries, and backgrounds sitting at a single table is exactly why we do what we do.

From Melting Cheese to Melting Moves
Once the cheese coma began to set in, we did the only logical thing to wake ourselves up: we danced. The transition from the dinner table to the dance floor is a Seaside tradition. We pushed the “Mega-Table” aside and turned the coworking lounge into a club. We danced all night, celebrating the year’s hard work and the friendships we’ve built between the 9-to-5.
