Seaside Cowork is more than just a workspace; it’s a vibrant community. Originally part of Porto i/o, the coworking space found itself at a crossroads when Porto i/o decided to sell. That’s when a dedicated member of the community stepped up to take over, driven not by profit but by a deep commitment to maintaining the communal spirit. This dedication transformed Seaside Cowork into a community-driven venture, where even the name and logo were chosen by its members.
Meet Minji: The Creative Mind Behind Seaside’s Logo
Minji hails from Seoul, South Korea. At 19, she moved to the United States for her studies and has since lived in several countries before finally settling in Porto four years ago. Porto, with its perfect blend of size and vibrancy, has become her beloved home.
A Background in Interaction Design
Minji’s journey into the world of design began with her studies in interaction design at art school—a unique blend of technology and artistry. Her passion lies in crafting meaningful digital experiences that make technology useful for people. This remote-friendly profession suits her perfectly, allowing her to indulge in her love for travel.
A Diverse Career Path
Minji’s career is as diverse as her interests. She started at UNICEF, moved on to roles at Google and Shopify, and currently works at an exciting startup called Overstory. Overstory focuses on helping utilities create smarter infrastructure and safer communities, aligning with Minji’s passion for impactful work.
Designing the Seaside Cowork Logo
After the community selected the name, the Seaside team began brainstorming ideas for the logo. We aimed for simplicity and a limited color palette. Our first draft featured a straightforward design with a prominent “C.”
Minji: “The logo portrays the sea and multiple waves to symbolize the warm sense of community.
I’ve explored many coworking spaces, and Seaside co.work definitely stands out as one of the best. Beyond its location near the beach, the community is what truly makes it wonderful.
I’ve met amazing people from diverse backgrounds and am fortunate enough to call some of them friends. Also I wanted to make the logo look like a blue tile because, it’s Portugal! I’m very glad that the first logo I’ve ever made is for this beautiful community.“
When Minji presented her logo, it received a standing ovation. Everyone immediately connected with her design. To ensure it was easy to read and versatile across platforms, we created a version with a white/transparent background, changed the font to emphasize “Cowork,” and made the icon square.
We then presented the final design to the community, and it was enthusiastically accepted.

That’s the story behind Seaside Cowork’s logo. Feel free to reach out to Minji if you have any design needs.
