Last Thursday, our Seaside Cowork space in Matosinhos transformed from a productivity hub into a slice of Italian heaven. What started as a casual conversation about weekend plans turned into one of our most memorable community events yet!
How It All Began
It all started when we discovered that Allan, one of our talented coworkers, is the proud owner of an Ooni pizza oven. If you’re not familiar with these portable marvels, they reach temperatures that rival traditional wood-fired ovens, creating that perfect crispy-yet-chewy authentic pizza crust. Once this information came to light, the idea for a pizza party spread faster than cheese on hot dough.
Allan and Clement volunteered to be our dough masters for the evening. They arrived early, armed with flour, yeast, and serious pizza-making determination. The rest of us were assigned the important task of bringing toppings – and we didn’t disappoint!
Pizza Extravaganza
By sunset, our outdoor terrace overlooking the Atlantic was buzzing with excitement. The Ooni was fired up, and the assembly line began. Allan worked the dough with the precision of a seasoned pizzaiolo, while Clement managed the cooking process, carefully sliding each creation into the blazing oven.
We managed to create an impressive 18 pizzas throughout the evening! The variety was outstanding:
- Classic Margheritas with fresh basil from someone’s balcony garden
- Perfectly folded Calzones stuffed with ricotta and ham
- Colorful Vegetarian options loaded with local produce
- Spicy Pepperoni pizzas that disappeared in seconds
- And several experimental creations born from the collaborative spirit of our coworking family
The unanimous favorite of the night was what we’ve now dubbed the “All Dough” – a focaccia-style creation that Allan made with the last batch of dough, drizzled with olive oil, rosemary, and sea salt. Simple yet absolutely divine!
From Pizza to Party
With full bellies and the warm glow that comes from good food and better company, someone connected their phone to our speakers, and suddenly we were transported to Italy with a spontaneous karaoke session!
Chantal and Fabs emerged as our resident vocal powerhouses, delivering performances that would make Andrea Bocelli proud. Chantal’s rendition of “Con Te Partirò” brought actual tears to eyes, while Fabs had everyone joining in for a rousing chorus of “Volare.”
Before long, our pizza party had evolved into a full-blown dance party. Tables were pushed aside, and our usually professional coworking space became a dance floor filled with laughter and some questionable dance moves (no names mentioned, but you know who you are!).
Community at Its Finest
What made the evening truly special wasn’t just the delicious food or the entertainment – it was seeing how events like these strengthen our coworking community. People who normally exchange nothing more than polite nods while making coffee were sharing stories, laughing together, and forming genuine connections.
This is exactly what makes Seaside Cowork special. We’re more than just a shared office space – we’re a community that celebrates talents beyond professional skills and creates opportunities for meaningful connections.
What’s Next?
The success of our pizza party has inspired us to make these gatherings a regular occurrence. Plans are already underway for our next community event, with a heated debate between Team Karaoke Night and Team Movie Night. (Feel free to cast your vote in the comments below!)
